Accounting Information Systems (AIS) have become an essential component of modern financial management by enhancing the accuracy, transparency, and reliability of financial information. In recent years, financial institutions and regulatory authorities have increasingly relied on AIS to strengthen Anti-Money Laundering (AML) programs through automated transaction monitoring, risk assessment, suspicious activity detection, and regulatory reporting. Despite continuous technological advancements, many organizations continue to face challenges in integrating AIS capabilities with AML compliance requirements, particularly regarding data quality, real-time monitoring, and regulatory adaptation. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Accounting Information Systems in supporting Anti-Money Laundering programs by examining the extent to which AIS contributes to improving transaction monitoring, regulatory compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency. A quantitative research approach was adopted using a structured questionnaire distributed to accounting professionals, internal auditors, compliance officers, financial managers, and AML specialists working in financial institutions. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques to evaluate the relationships between AIS effectiveness and AML performance indicators. The findings are expected to demonstrate that organizations implementing integrated Accounting Information Systems supported by advanced analytical capabilities, automated compliance controls, and real-time financial reporting achieve higher levels of money laundering detection, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and organizational transparency. The study concludes that strengthening AIS infrastructure, enhancing employee competencies, and integrating emerging digital technologies into accounting processes significantly improve the effectiveness of Anti-Money Laundering programs while supporting sustainable financial governance and regulatory compliance within financial institutions
